Environmental Protection Services, Inc. offers customers the opportunity to for customers to recycle their Non-PCB and PCB-Contaminated transformer oil through our PCBXSM process. For updated information please check out our new website at about oil recycling. With over 30 million gallons of reclaimed, dechlorinated oil already processed since 1981, PCBXSM has proven to be an effective method for PCB destruction in mineral oil. The PCBXSM system is designed to either mobilize on-site at the customer's facility or receive bulk oil shipments for treatment at EPS's PCB disposal facility. On-site field mobilization is suitable for transformers or electrical equipment that will remain in service. The PCBXSM system is designed to treat the oil in either energized or de-energized equipment. In addition to PCB removal, the PCBXSM system also reclaims the mineral oil by degassing, dehydrating and filtering the oil prior to returning the oil to the transformer. Bulk oil shipment is for oil that has been removed from retired electrical equipment. PCBXSM is an economical alternative to PCB incineration for oil disposal. The advantage of the EPS PCBXSM process is that EPS can return the mineral oil to the customer after the oil is chemically treated and reclaimed. This oil, Trans-X, performs well in high voltage applications and is an excellent dielectric fluid in transformers. Trans-X oil offers price savings over virgin oil without sacrificing the performance of the oil.
